Our Story
We are grateful to have found partners in one another. Please join us in celebration as we make our partnership official!
A decade ago we met in California, as like-minded educators. As colleagues, we shared a deep mutual respect and fondness for one another. Fondness blossomed into friendship, and eventually into romance and love.
In the fall of 2020 we moved from the San Francisco Bay to Ashley's hometown of Athens, in the Appalachian foothills of southern Ohio, to live more simply and be with family and childhood friends, and we're so glad we did. Drew is living his best Athenian life as a busy performing musician in two bands, and as a music and audio professor at Hocking College. Ashley has found her niche in launching a school for gifted students and, unrelated, teaching salsa classes at her childhood dance studio. We're fortunate to live among the trees at The Sanctuary for Birds, Cats and Humans (as we call it) where watching the horizon is a pastime.
Over the past six years, we've survived multiple plagues while living together in a studio apartment, somehow without tiring of one another. Given this storied terrain, and the presence of so much joy along the way, we decided it must be The Real Thing.
Here's where you come in. We'll be together on May 18, in part, because of the countless ways you've shaped and supported our journey. We're eager to celebrate with family and friends who nurture our love and lives — we're grateful for each of you, and ready to boogie down.
